Supply Management

Supply ManagementWhen people think of John Deere, they think of innovation and reliability in the Agriculture, Forestry, Construction and Commercial equipment industries. All of that product design would be left on the drawing board without a functioning method for obtaining the right parts at the right time. That’s where you come in, as part of our supply management team.

It’s the perfect place to get a view of how the company operates and how much we rely on our suppliers to meet the needs of our customers. You’ll be involved in making sourcing decisions, handling purchasing negotiations, and even assisting our suppliers to grow their businesses and strengthen our supply chain.

There’s always something exciting to do. If parts are shipping on-time with no quality issues in production, you may work on an inventory or cost reduction project. If fill rates are perfect in the service group, you might organize a team meeting to brainstorm improvements. No two days are the same.

You may have opportunities for travel, and you’ll definitely work closely with our suppliers and factories all over the world on a daily basis. We inspire employees to be leaders and provide the hands-on experience that will help you build an outstanding career.

Supply Management Internship

As an intern, you’ll have the opportunity to execute cost management tools and processes, develop business cases for major cost opportunities, and work with factories to provide global sourcing, logistics planning and inventory reduction plans. You must be a sophomore, junior or first-year grad student majoring in Supply Management, Purchasing, Industrial Engineering or Transportation/Logistics, with a desired GPA of 3.0/4.0.
