How to Apply

There are several ways to apply for an opportunity with John Deere. You may search on this site and apply online for a position that matches your interest. Once your profile is in our system, we will contact you if we see a match with our available opportunities.

If John Deere is attending an event on your campus, you may apply directly through your campus placement office to pre-register for an interview with us during our sessions. Once again, we ask that you apply online via this site, so that we have your information ready when we meet.

John Deere will again review the results of your interview. You will be notified of the status of your interview within two weeks. If we extend a job offer to you, you will be asked to make a decision within two weeks.

If you accept the job offer, details of your project will be defined and communicated to you as the start of your work session approaches.

We often have more successful interview candidates than we can immediately make job offers to, without first waiting to receive responses from pending offers. You may receive notification within two weeks after your second-round interview that an immediate offer cannot be made, but that you are still in consideration if an opportunity becomes available.

If we do not extend a job offer to you, your resume will remain in our database for one year and we'll contact you if an opportunity becomes available that matches your skills, interests and experiences.

You will need to submit your profile online and fax us a copy of your transcripts, if you have not already done so. We will review your resume, transcripts and the results of your interview. Within two weeks, we’ll send you an email message confirming the status of your interview. If an opportunity exists that matches your qualifications, you may be asked to visit a John Deere facility for an on-site interview.

Do your homework. Check out this website and gather as much information about John Deere as you can, so you are prepared to speak intelligently. Talk to friends, alumni and even current employees for additional perspective.

Dress for success. Whether you’re on campus or in our corporate office, it’s important to make a great first impression. Choose professional dress over business casual.

Relax and be yourself. Let yourself become fully engaged in the interview process. If you’re not going to get a job on the basis of who you really are, then it’s not a job you’d want anyway.

Know your resume and skill set. Working from an updated resume, you should easily be able to discuss your strengths and work history.

Ask questions. Prepare some questions about the company, other possible opportunities and advancement potential. Ask about the job expectations and its responsibilities.

Expect to do some thinking. The interviewer may ask you how you solved a certain problem or what steps you took to resolve a situation. This is a good indicator of how you will handle yourself in the future.

Show your enthusiasm. We love to see a candidate who is excited by the opportunity to join John Deere. Be dynamic, engaging and confident.
