Blacksmith Demonstrations

Rick Trahan is the John Deere Historic Site's Staff Blacksmith. His presentation and humorous storytelling offer you the opportunity to entertain clients or share with friends and family in a unique experience.

Rick demonstrates authentic traditional forged ironwork using the same techniques that have been employed for centuries and are still used every day in demonstrations at the Historic Site's replica Blacksmith Shop.

These entertaining and informative blacksmith demonstrations are included in the package price for all events scheduled at the John Deere Historic Site. Rick is also available, for an additional fee, for demonstrations at the Collectors Center.

Rates for Collectors Center Demonstrations

• Blacksmith Demonstration (30 minutes) - $125.00
• Blacksmith Meet & Greet (30 minutes) - $100.00
  Rick will greet your special guests as they arrive.
• Blacksmith Meet & Greet with Demonstration - $200.00
