Welcome to the John Deere Seeding Group
Moline, Ill., is the business center for John Deere planters, box-drills, and air-seeders. Planters are assembled here. Box-drills are manufactured in Des Moines, Iowa. Workers at the John Deere plant in Valley City, N.D., assemble the air-seeders.
Planter Manufacturing
John Deere has manufactured planting equipment along the Mississippi River since 1877. But it wasn't until the early 1990s that the company consolidated manufacturing at this location into a state-of-the-art plant spanning 20 acres under one roof.
MaxEmerge™XP planters assembled on the shop floor continue to make history and raise planting standards. This provides farmers worldwide with the technology they need to plant a wide variety of seed in widely varying soils and seedbeds.
Three generations of planters built here since 1973 have helped make John Deere the Number One manufacturer of seeding products, as well as the world's leading agricultural manufacturer.

Box-drill Manufacturing
Every John Deere grain drill manufactured today has a heritage of over 140 years of testing and designing know-how behind it. Grain drill manufacturing has been centered at this facility since 1969.
The 750 No-Till Drill was introduced twenty years after that, eventually becoming the most popular model in the world. A 750A design version has set the standard in Europe.
Air-seeding Manufacturing
The air-seeding implements manufactured at this factory carry on the heritage and continue to be at the forefront of technology. Advancement over the years include plastic-tanks, industry-leading seed metering for over 50 crops and advanced electronics and hydraulics.
