John Deere Map Based Prescriptions

Change seeding rates on-the-go, automatically
Tractor with Planter John Deere Map Based Prescriptions is available for all John Deere 1700 Series MaxEmergeâ„¢Plus Planters (except the 1780 Rigid Planter)plus 1900 and 1910 Air Carts with variable rate drives.

First, develop a seeding prescription for any field and enter the planting rates that will be used across the field in Apex desktop computer software program. Create a prescription map to fit a center-pivot irrigation system. Use previously collected data from the field, such as yield maps and tile lines, when creating the prescription map. Once the prescriptions are created, save it to your PC Card.

Prescription Map created in JDOffice At planting, insert the PC Card and KeyCard into the mobile processor. While driving across the field, the StarFire receiver sends position information to the processor, which instructs the planter's variable-rate drive to plant according to the created plan. At the same time, Field Doc works with the SeedStar monitor to record the planting rates.

Map Based Prescriptions offers many other benefits:

  • It allows manual variation of the seed rate percentage by 15 percent of the predefined map rate from the GreenStar display.
  • It alerts users if the corrections signal is lost, and the planter can be switched to a user-defined default rate, allowing planting to continue.
  • Record keeping on the actual seeding operation

Field Doc software has the ability to keep extremely accurate records on fertilizer, herbicide, and pesticide application - and even the weather conditions at planting. This allows the creation of seeding population map based on a number of variables. The population rate automatically changes as the tractor and planter move through the field, planting according to the created prescription map.
