Get that driveway in shape
If you have a gravel driveway, now is a good time to get it in shape - literally. “The three most important things to maintaining a good gravel drive are drainage, drainage, and drainage,” asserts Russ Lanoie, contractor and road consultant from Conway, N.H. “Getting your roadway properly shaped is one of the keys to getting proper drainage.”

Road Crown
Lanoie says spring is an excellent time to make repairs and reshape your drive. “In spring wait until the road is stable but still soft,” he notes. “You’ll want to cut through ruts and pot holes and remove any gravel ridges on the road edge left by wheel tracks or snow plows. Pull that material to the center of the road, to make a nice center crown.” Lanoie has these and other driveway suggestions at Rural Home Technology.
