5003 Series Tractors

Since they were introduced in 2003, John Deere 5003 Series Tractors have defined ease-of-use, reliability, and overall value. Now, the 5003 Series Tractors deliver even more.

Wider horsepower range
You can now choose from four models — available in two- or four-wheel-drive — ranging from 45 to 74 engine horsepower. Each features a field-proven 2.9L John Deere PowerTech™ engine.

More efficient transmissions
The easy-to-use 9F/3R collarshift transmission becomes more efficient with a SyncReverser for two-wheel drive models; a SyncShuttle for four-wheel-drive models. "The SyncReverser provides an in-line synchronized shuttle shift of nine forward and three reverse speeds," says Mike Alvin, product manager, John Deere Commercial Products. "You can easily switch directions without having to completely stop the tractor between selected shifts which makes this ideal for loader work. The SyncShuttle offers the same features plus allows forward synchronized shifting with clutching between gears on-the-go."

The Four-wheel-drive offers better traction, more power to the ground
The four-wheel-drive models feature a heavy-duty front axle with 55-degree turn angle and limited slip design. The result? More drawbar pull. Better traction in slick conditions. And an overall improvement in fuel economy.

Improved hydraulic versatility
An open-center hydraulic system provides excellent flow for running implements. Plus, with separate hydraulic pumps for steering and implements, the tractor steers easily, even when under a heavy load.

A single rear SCV is standard equipment. Dual rear-SCVs and dual mid-SCVs with joystick control are also available.for running loaders and rear-mounted equipment.
