The John Deere VacuMeter™ was improved for Model Year 2008 (MY08) Planters, offering more accurate seed singulation, and more precise seed spacing and placement. These improvements can help you maximize your yield in corn production.
Planters built after May 1, 2007 come standard from the factory with these improvements. If your planter was built before May 1, 2007, you can take advantage of these great enhancements by purchasing upgrade kits and select parts.

Pro-Series XP Meter Kit
Part number AA69854 (QTY: 1; each row unit requires one kit)
Kit includes the following: new seed-meter hub, new seed-tube chute cover, new machined-meter housing, externally adjustable double eliminator, brushes, mini hopper, and meter-positioning bracket.

Flush-Face Seed Tube
Part number AA67780 (QTY: 1)
The Flush-Face Seed Tube allows seed to drop uninterrupted through the tube for more precise spacing. Therefore, it is strongly recommended you upgrade to it as well.

Once a Pro-Series XP vacuum meter is upgraded, your planter is well equipped to give the best performance possible. These upgrades will improve meter performance when using any type of vacuum disk and are strongly recommended when using the ProMAX 40 Flat Disk.
The ProMAX 40 Flat Disk is rapidly growing in popularity because of the benefits it offers the operator. It performs very well in crops that are typically difficult to singulate because of inconsistent seed sizes, shapes, or treatments - all of which are becoming common in today's seed market.

Note: The flat disk requires the use of a double eliminator and knockout wheel.

Part number AA68703 (QTY: Parts for four MY08 Pro-Series meters)
This new double eliminator requires the new MY08 meter housing. The double eliminator is included in the AA69854 upgrade kit.

ProMAX 40 Flat Disk Knockout Wheel
Part number AA37348 (QTY: Parts for two meters)
This knockout wheel is required when using the ProMAX 40 Flat Disk.

This brush is included in the AA69854 upgrade kit.

When switching back to a cell-style disk, such as a soybean disk, the double eliminator must be set to the storage, or disengaged position. You'll need to (1) remove the knockout wheel, (2) install a cell-disk scraper, (3) remove the double-notch brush, and (4) install a single-notch brush.
