Tired of struggling to keep a fescue lawn fed, watered and looking healthy, we converted part of our backyard into perennial and seasonal vegetable beds. Formerly a valley of spotty fescue grass, pictured is our backyard after removing a 'little bit' of clay soil, installing drainage tiling, a retaining wall and a few plants.
Though a seemingly perpetual work in progress (like many yards and gardens), we cannot imagine going back to the way it was! Our remaining lawn looks great!
