The prospect of gardening was quite exhilarating when I bought my house in the spring several years ago, moving from a condominium that only allowed for a very basic gardening setup on an upper-level deck. I quickly learned that I should rethink any pre-established notions I had about gardening, for my landscape was bordered by lots and lots of trees, leaving me instead with copious amounts of shade. I soon discovered the glorious foliage of hostas, ranging from basic green to shades of blue to brilliant golden yellow, with all kinds of variegation, streaking, and combinations possible. My quest to collect hostas blossomed that summer, and the hard work to make my first hosta bed began. Now I have over 200 different hosta varieties in my landscape intermingled with other shade-loving companion plants. I am a John Deere employee and also a satisfied customer. My John Deere LT160 Lawn Tractor, 10P Utility Cart, Aerator, and Tow-Behind Lawn Sweeper are all invaluable tools when I'm working on my lawn and gardens. Of course, the lawn tractor does a fantastic job keeping my lawn nicely manicured, but I also use it for much more than mowing. My LT160 is my landscaping partner, loyally pulling along the attachments I've purchased over the years to make my tasks more efficient and enjoyable. Thanks, John Deere, for making the tools I need to keep my landscape looking good!
