Auger fingers play a critical role. They ensure a smooth feeding of material into the feeder house and due to their hardened surface they last longer even in toughest conditions with green straw or high yields. But nevertheless, if they are subject to heavy impacts, which can be caused by stones or other foreign objects they must break and not bend. Bent auger fingers can potentially cause wear on the finger guide as well as put additional load on the finger crank and auger driveline. In extreme cases a bent finger can even cause the auger skin to deform. John Deere auger fingers feature a breakaway groove, enabling them to fall back into the auger drum, preventing expensive damage to the platform and reducing repair, cost and downtime.
The Genuine Advantage:
- Zone hardened to withstand higher stress levels without deforming or breaking
- Breakaway groove with specific break point to prevent platform damage
- Fits exactly
