Alan Field, Scarrington, Nottinghamshire.
"Fifteen years ago, I bought a property with over 60 acres of lawns, paddocks and pasture. Knowing nothing about groundcare, I put my trust in the local John Deere dealer and bought a lightly used 332 garden tractor with a cutting bed and two bag collector. The price made me wince a little, but what an investment it turned out to be, coping with every challenge and never missing a beat. We breed horses too, and the same little tractor puts in at least two hours 7 days a week towing and topping trailer loads of muck from the stables. It truly has become more of a part of the family than a machine, and now the long obsolete cutter bed has finally been abused beyond repair, it's dedicated to hauling, with cutting duties delegated to a brand new John Deere Spin-steer. If this delivers half as much pleasure and satisfaction, I'll be well pleased."
