Booms

Booms in Transit

This range of booms brings a level of strength, stability and accuracy to every spraying job. Two ranges of booms are offered: A double folded boom from 15-30 metres with a transport width of only 2.55m and a triple folding boom from 24 to a huge 33m with a 3m transport width.

Transport Widths
  • If your fields are widely dispersed, you will appreciate the 2.55m transport width of the double folding boom.
  • The triple folding boom allows very wide booms, while still maintaining a compact machine.
  • Trailing accuracy, stability and manoeuvrability remain as good as with the smaller machines.
  • Transport and folding height of these booms will be much lower than with double folding booms with large working widths. This will reduce transport problems and prevent any risk when folding.

Rough Fields and Slopes
  • Rough fields and slopes can have a major impact on your spraying accuracy. The John Deere boom features an exciting new suspension system that provides level-best spraying.
  • The boom is suspended vertically, horizontally and in the yaw direction.
  • The result is an extremely well behaved boom that provides an exceptionally level spraying platform. You gain more even distribution and improved results.

Electric Boom Tilt
  • The boom is equipped with an electric boom tilt.
  • When spraying on slopes, the system is readily adjusted so that the boom stays parallel to the field while retaining the full pendulum action.
  • The boom tilt can also be controlled with a rotary switch (option for EL-4 control, standard for ELC-1 and EHC-2). It lets you position the boom quickly and accurately in the desired position.

Height Range
  • With a height range of 55 to 245cm (on 48 inch tyres), the John Deere boom design with parallelogram provides all season long application.
  • It's the perfect answer when you need the utmost in versatility for spraying immature crops and for late season spraying of tall crops, without affecting ground clearance. Now you can spray any crop under any condition.
  • The boom height can be read from the cab on an optional scale located on the sprayer.

Spray Lines & Booms
Spray Lines
  • The boom is equipped with high quality stainless steel spray lines. This gives you years of dependable, trouble free service.
  • The spraylines with single or multiple nozzle bodies and the section valves are completely protected along the whole boom length.
  • Rinsing the sprayer or fitting a second spray line with droplet hoses is simple and fast.

Spraying
  • The spray booms are designed to minimise torsion, bounce and sway movements to achieve the best possible spray pattern and to ensure durability and strength.
  • All swivel points of the boom have self adjusting ball and socket bearings to ensure dependability and long life.
  • The bearings also ensure that the boom will not sag, even after many years of operation.

Nozzles
  • The sprayer can be fitted with rugged single or multiple nozzle bodies for a quick changeover to varying spray patterns, droplet spectra and volume rates.
  • Nozzle bodies have bayonet caps with colour coding to quickly identify the correct nozzle and prevent spraying errors.
  • The diaphragm check valve prevents dripping.
  • For the ultimate in convenience, revolving nozzle bodies let you quickly switch from up to five different nozzles in the field or shut off individual nozzles.
  • A full range of nozzles is available for any kind of application of agrochemicals or liquid fertiliser.
  • The product range comprises 80 degree and 110 degree extended range flat fan nozzles, low drift deflector nozzles, air induction venturi nozzles as well as special 8 hole nozzles for spraying liquid fertiliser.
  • For a complete overview of nozzles and application technology, please ask your John Deere dealer for our detailed SprayPartner catalogue.
