Get ideal seed placement in minimal till conditions

Reduce tillage. Seed through residue. Save time and Money.
740A If tillage is always in your plans, the 740A Double Disc Air Drill may be the machine for you. It accurately seeds into fields with as much as 40 per cent residue cover. Disc blades are offset to slice smoothly through rough soil and clods. Plus, outstanding depth gauging press wheels provide accurate depth of seeding, while providing good seed-to-soil contact.

Look at the savings. Decide where you plan to take your operation. And then see your John Deere dealer for one of these innovative seeding tools.

  • Double disc openers cut a clean furrow, making an ideal environment for seed germination.
  • "Active" hydraulics load each opener with uniform down pressure for an even seeding depth.
  • Work 6 metres wide (with a 2300 litre tank), or 8 or 9 metres wide (3500 litre tank). Transport with 3 metres.

Advanced hydraulics and openers give this drill the edge in minimal and conventional till
Accurate seeding with precise depth control in conventional till and minimal till - that's what you get with the 740A Drill.

Double disc openers cut clean furrows. Blades are offset 6 mm to penetrate hard soil and slice through residue. Openers are staggered, improving residue flow.

Depth gauging press wheels control furrow depth and promote good seed-to-soil contact.

Outstanding "active" hydraulic down pressure enables cylinders to extend or retract as openers encounter uneven ground, keeping seeding depth consistent for uniform emergence.

A monitor controls the fan, meters, drive wheels, electrical power, or hopper filling. Select tramline rhythms or shut-off seed to half or all openers. Metering functions include: area worked (field and total), area worked per hour, hours worked, fan and ground speed, tramline rhythm and hopper reserve.
