Threshing, Separating & Feeding

Smooth material flow, unmatched straw quality.

CWS Working

No matter how tough, thick or tangled the crop is when it enters the feederhouse, John Deere's threshing, separating, cleaning and grain handling can take it.

Threshing and Separating

Threshing Diagram

  • The big capacity threshing system features a massive cylinder to help harvest more grain right up front.
  • The high inertia threshing cylinder weighs 350kg, providing tremendous threshing performance. The resulting flywheel effect means better recovery from temporary overloads and a smoother running machine.
  • A 600mm concave provides a long wrap and quick separation. It handles all crops, eliminating the need for changeover to "special" concaves.
  • The John Deere Posi-Torq drive senses changes in torque and automatically tensions the drive belt.
  • A powerful, 16hp hydraulic reverser lets you dislodge the most stubborn plugs effortlessly.
  • The unmatched straw walker design delivers excellent separation.
  • Both the 1450CWS and 1550CWS feature a long throw and 150 rpm speed for terrific straw fluffing and grain separation.
  • Bolt-on walker grids let you adjust quickly to different crops.

Cleaning

Cleaning Diagram

  • The large cleaning area features a reciprocating chaffer and sieves for self-cleaning action.
  • Two high-velocity fans blow a constant stream of air that lifts and eliminates stems, chaff and debris.

Grain Handling

CWS Unloading
  • Pour on productivity with a John Deere 1450CWS or 1550CWS.
  • Big grain tank capacity (6000L) and a new unloading auger that pivots a full 110 degrees provides a better view and more flexibility during unloading.
  • The rugged chopper delivers finely chopped straw and spreads a uniform layer of residue over a much wider spread area.

Chopper Drive
  • The standard chaff spreader is ideal for operators who want to bale straw for livestock, but don't want to collect the chaff.
  • The chopper drive is substantially more powerful than previous designs for better performance in difficult conditions.
