Straw walker bearings are responsible for the performance and long life of the straw walker unit and must be able to withstand demanding conditions. An internal lubrication source is essential, as the wooden bearings are not connected to a lubrication system.
As working temperatures increase, the lubricant must be released steadily. In addition, the wooden bearings must not warp under environmental influences of temperature or humidity. If the bearings open, crack, or break, dust will enter and accelerate wear. If the bearings close, they will seize on the shaft.
