CEMA elects Gilles Dryancour as new president
At its recent summit in Brussels, the Board of Directors of CEMA, the European Committee representing the agricultural machinery industry, elected Gilles Dryancour as the new president of the organisation for a two-year term.
In his new role, Dryancour - who is director, public affairs for John Deere in Europe, CIS, Northern Africa and the Near & Middle East - will be supported by Franz-Georg von Busse, managing director of Lemken (Germany) and by Massimo Goldoni, president of UNACOMA (Italy), who were both elected as vice-presidents by the CEMA general assembly.
“One of CEMA’s primary objectives is to improve the visibility of the sector among key stakeholders and to create a better understanding of the impact of EU-wide regulatory decisions on our industry,” says Dryancour. “Therefore, we must seek ways to influence future regulatory decisions so they will not impose unnecessary costs on our industry and, ultimately, on our customers, who provide food, energy and infrastructure to a rapidly growing world population.”
Gilles Dryancour is a graduate of the University of Aix-en-Provence with Masters degrees in political sciences and European law and a PhD degree in economics, and joined John Deere in March 2001. Prior to his current position, Dryancour represented the interests of major European companies in Brussels as a consultant. Having been actively involved in the organisation’s reform committee between 2005 and 2007, he has served as CEMA vice-president since 2007.
CEMA represents 11 national agricultural machinery manufacturers’ associations throughout the European Union, with approximately 4500 member companies generating combined annual net sales of 28 billion Euros.
