The Royal Highland Show 2008

New John Deere machines at the Highland
A range of new John Deere technology can be seen at the Royal Highland Show for the first time, including the 400hp T670i combine, which features ‘intelligent’ harvesting technology and the new tangential tine separator system.

This system improves separation capacity and therefore combine output by 15 per cent compared with previous machines, while maintaining the same excellent grain and straw quality and low fuel consumption. The improved output is particularly noticeable when working in damp conditions or with high volumes of straw.

All John Deere’s i Series combines are equipped as standard with HarvestSmart automatic feedrate control, AutoTrac assisted steering and Harvest Doc software, and offer up to 23 per cent more output compared with their non-i equivalents.

John Deere has introduced a new pressure recirculation system with pneumatic switching of the spray nozzles for the 5430i self-propelled sprayer, which is also featured on the Highland Show stand. The system is now being fitted as standard equipment on this machine, as well as on all 800i and 800i TF (Twin Fluid) Series trailed sprayers.

The new system provides maximum liquid agitation while maintaining high pressures (up to 8 bar) and high flow rates in the spray lines, with the sprayer nozzle bodies incorporating a failsafe ‘air on/spring off’ check valve. This ensures ultra-fast, drip-free nozzle on/off switching and improved spray accuracy, particularly when using the GreenStar SprayerPro control system.

Other new machines being shown for the first time on the John Deere stand at the show include a 120hp 6530 Standard tractor. The new mid-specification 6030 Series tractors are designed for wider appeal to a bigger range of customers, particularly mixed and livestock farmers looking for reliability, performance, higher levels of comfort and simple operation as standard.
