New self-propelled sprayer from John Deere

Self Propelled Sprayer On static display at Cereals/Sprays & Sprayers 2007 for the first time, John Deere’s new self-propelled sprayer will be available in limited numbers by the end of 2007. The machine has been designed to meet the specific needs of larger arable farms and contractors in western and central Europe.

This new sprayer’s design will benefit from John Deere’s experience in manufacturing a complete range of market leading self-propelled sprayers for North America. It will use proven European components, including a 215hp, 6.8-litre Tier III PowerTech engine, a 6030 Series tractor engine hood and cooling package, a cab manufactured in Bruchsal and a proven spray system from John Deere’s sprayer factory in Horst, The Netherlands.

The sprayer will also feature an independent all wheel suspension system, capable of delivering higher levels of productivity by allowing accurate spraying at speeds of up to 20kph, and fast road speeds of up to 40kph with a full 4000 litre tank. Double folding booms with working widths of 24 to 36m will be available, with optional BoomTrac automatic boom levelling and height control.

Ground clearance of over 1.1m and up to 42in flotation tyres will satisfy the growing demand for high-clearance sprayers to cope with taller crops grown for biofuel production, for example, and will keep crop damage and soil compaction to a minimum.

Additional features will include the same intelligent spraying solutions offered on the new 800i Series trailed sprayers (see separate release).
