New 9030 Series tractors offer more power and performance

9530 4WD Featuring larger, fuel efficient Tier 3 engines with increased horsepower, a new AirCushion track suspension system on tracked models, higher levels of cab comfort and integrated AMS technology, John Deere’s new 9030 Series tractors are the most productive high horsepower models ever built by the company.

There are four articulated wheeled and three tracked models available, ranging in horsepower from 388 to 543hp. The new model line-up is as follows:

Model Rated hp
(97/68 EC)
Max hp
(97/68 EC
9330 388 426
9430 439 483
9530 491 540
9630 543 597
9430T 439 483
9530T 491 540
9630T543 597

9530T All three tracked tractor models feature the new AirCushion walking beam suspension system, which is designed to provide a smoother ride in all conditions. A redesigned bogey undercarriage allows easier track alignment and provides increased track tensioning and recoil, wider front idlers and enhanced reliability.

Featuring 34cm (13.4in) of total suspension travel at the front idler wheels, the system is equipped with its own on-board controllers that automatically adjust to field or transport conditions. This means higher speeds and more overall productivity with less fatigue, even when spending longer days in the field. Track widths of 760 and 900mm (30 and 36in) are available.

The innovative PowerTech Plus 13.5 litre, six cylinder engines are engineered specifically for high horsepower field applications to help the operator get more done in less time. They are designed with four valves per cylinder, exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) and a variable geometry turbo (VGT). The result is a cleaner burning engine delivering a torque rise of up to 38 per cent and a 10 per cent power bulge while still meeting emissions standards.

Engine efficiency is also enhanced with a new cooling package, including the patented VariCool variable speed fan drive and cooling system, as introduced on the 8030 Series tractors. The fan runs only at the speed necessary to meet the cooling requirements of the tractor, thus increasing fuel efficiency and reducing power consumption.

A new, larger fuel tank gives the tractors up to 33 per cent more capacity. Combined with the fuel efficient engines, this means the tractors can stay longer in the field and allow the operator to cover more acres in less time.

The standard, field proven 18/6 speed PowerShift transmission is designed with enhanced shift logic to provide superior shift quality and accommodate the increased power levels. Drive components have been beefed up on the 9530 and 9630 wheeled models, and a new, stronger double reduction axle handles the increased horsepower requirements and higher torque loads in the field.

Even with the larger engine and cooling package, the new bonnet design with a relocated exhaust provides excellent forward visibility for all field activities. The operator station and cab have also been improved to provide increased operator comfort.

The CommandView cab features lower sound levels, reduced by 2dB(A) to 72dB(A), colour coded controls for easy operation, and good all-round visibility. Optional ActiveSeat suspension compensates for vertical tractor movement, so the driver experiences a smoother, safer ride, and all models are available GreenStar AutoTrac ready.
