New John Deere dealer for Orkney

Pictured from left to right are:- John Deere Limited managing director Richard Johnson, Ian Mackay of MLM Engineering, John Deere division sales manager Antony Scott and Scottish territory manager George Livingstone, pictured on the John Deere stand at the Royal Highland Show John Deere is pleased to announce the appointment of MLM Engineering as the new agricultural machinery dealer for Orkney and Shetland, following R B Flett Ltd's decision last December to cease trading.

The business is being run by three co-directors, Ian Mackay, David Linklater and Alan Muir, all of whom were previously employed by Fletts, and is based at the same premises in Orphir, Orkney. The new business also employs two service technicians, Mark Heddle and Edgar Thomson, and Dilys Linklater as office manager.

In addition to John Deere's agricultural machinery, MLM is selling and servicing the company's homeowner product range, including walk-behind and ride-on mowers and scarifiers. This complements the recent appointment of Allan's of Gillock Ltd in Watten as a John Deere homeowner dealer for Caithness, Orkney and Shetland.

"With MLM's appointment, owners and operators of John Deere equipment on Orkney and Shetland will continue to receive local sales, parts and service support," said John Deere Limited division sales manager Antony Scott. "We would like to thank our customers for their patience while the new dealership was being established."
