John Deere announces dual-power strategy for tractors, combines, and other self-propelled machines
John Deere recently held the largest, most significant product launch in its 174 history with a complete line-up of tractors, combines, sprayers, precision guidance, and telematics technology.
The new self-propelled machines all feature industry-leading Interim Tier 4 (IT4) engines with more power, performance, and fluid efficiency than previous models to help producers gain even more productivity in the field. A selection of the machines can also be ordered with a more economically priced Tier 2 Engine (T2), depending on customer preference.
“The IT4 machines are powered by cleaner-burning John Deere PowerTech™ engines with Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR)” says Steve Wright, Marketing Manager, John Deere Limited. “These powerful, fluid-efficient engines meet strict European and U.S emissions standards, and are designed with more power, fuel efficiency, and an advanced engine control unit to automatically monitor engine and load changes.”
The new PowerTech™ IT4 engine does not need a second fluid (Urea) to operate and, in the 8335R Tractor, the engine matched fuel-efficiency records at the Nebraska Tractor Test Lab in the United States. These new engines and vehicles are also completely integrated with the latest technology such as JDLink™, Machine Sync™, and other future John Deere FarmSight™ products.
“For customers needing similar power and performance at a more economical price, we are also offering selected vehicles with Tier 2 engines,” says Wright. “These machines will have the same comfort and convenience, integrated technology, and similar overall engine performance of IT4 vehicles, and will be fully supported by John Deere and our dealers.”
Regardless of the choice, customers will receive a vehicle that is configured for precision guidance technology with field-proven features for exceptional productivity.
“John Deere dealers will assist customers in making the right choice for their operation,” emphasises Wright. “They can help determine the appropriate equipment and technology to make sure producers get the most efficiency from their equipment fleet.”
