February 19, 2008 - John Deere's new 6030 Series Open Station Tractors combine traditional John Deere quality and reliability with convenient control, great styling and advanced tractor technology. Available for 2008, this new six model range replaces the previous 6020 Open Station Series, and will complement the existing 6030 Premium Series & 6030 Series models. These machines are equipped with the same innovative features found on the rest of the new 6030 Series line-up – including new highly efficient PowerTech™ engines, robust hydraulics, and choice of transmissions. The open, spacious, uncluttered platform is free of levers and lines, and controls are mounted ergonomically for quick and simple operation. Plus, these tractors feature an adjustable suspension seat for long-lasting comfort and a tilting steering column for adjustment to a comfortable operating position and easy entrance and exit.

All models feature a Tier III turbocharged engine with 2-valve high pressure common rail fuel injection system, dual stage charge air cooler and dual temperature cooling system. This new design delivers unmatched fuel efficiency, high torque and reduced service time. The engines deliver 20 percent constant power and an extra 5 percent power bulge when required.

New styling features include a one-piece front opening hood for easy access to regular service components, new easy-to-read dashboard displays and sight-glass for transmission and hydraulic oil.

There are now six transmission options available, depending on model. From heavy ploughing to fast transport, there’s a transmission to suit. Choose from the SynchroPlus™ 12/4 (30 kph only), PowerReverser 16/16 (30 and 40 kph), PowerQuad™ 16/16 (30 and 40 kph) and 24/24 (40 kph only). All transmissions provide easy-to-use controls for smooth shifting and an optional creeper with field speeds as low as 0.16 kph.

Additional features include a left-hand reverser that makes loader work easy – frequent shuttling back and forth is fast, simple, smooth and without clutching. For ease of use, operators can turn the rear PTO on and off with the push of a button. And for convenience, operators can mechanically control multiple functions with a single lever for up to four selective control valves.
