5020 Series Full Frame Tractors : Hitch

Electronic Hitch Control

The electro-hydraulic hitch control utilises electronic sensors to immediately relay information to the electronic hitch control module for fast, smooth and accurate hitch corrections.

  • The rocker-type switch allows the operator to raise and lower the implement to the preset depth/height.
  • A linear lever allows convenient and precise control of the 3-point hitch.
  • A lockable clip is incorporated at the maximum raised position during transport, where hitch dampening functions.
  • Rotary switches, located under the rear cover, are used to set raise height and rate of drop
  • The load and the depth mix switch blends a selection of load sensitivity, from full load control to position control, which incorporates a detent.
  • The Quick Pull-in mode allows customers to work more efficiently with shorter headlands, with less soil compaction, and to improve work quality and increase yield potential by achieving a more uniform working depth.

ELECTRONIC LOWER LINK SENSING:

Electronic lower link sensing gives precise load control with all implements under all field conditions. Accurate, responsive draft control gives better weight transfer and less wheel-slip during heavy draft operations. The 5020 Series tractor is used increasingly in mixed farming applications, which demands high quality ploughing.

PRECISE STEPPER MOTOR HITCH CONTROL:

The John Deere hitch control system uses stepper motor control to manage hitch valve movement. The high-torque stepper motor is geared to control the valve opening and closing in steps of 0.036mm valve movements.

3-POINT HITCH REMOTE CONTROL:

The two-way switches for the 3-point hitch remote control is located on the right and left rear fenders making it more convenient to hook-up rear mounted implements.

HITCH DAMPENING:

John Deere's hitch dampening system provides a smooth ride when transporting heavy hitch-mounted implements. Total system integration means that the dampening system is automatically engaged whenever the rockshaft lever is moved into the transport position, and disengaged whenever the hitch is lowered again. The hitch dampening system gives a smooth ride with 3-point hitch mounted implements and therefore ensures operator comfort, and less strain on tractor components resulting in increased reliability.

Depending on the amplitude of the shock loads generated by the implement, signals are sent to the hitch controller. The controller then immediately counteracts the respective force and its direction by slightly lifting or lowering the hitch lift arms, and therefore the implement as well.

SELECTIVE CONTROL VALVES:

The selective control valves provide a full range of features to meet customers' exact requirements.

All SCVs feature a four position double or single acting function in the cab using lever.

Up to 3 SCV's can be fitted to the 5020 Series Tractors.

  • ISO couplers are mounted to each SCV.

THREE DIFFERENT SELECTIVE CONTROL VALVE VERSIONS:

The 5020 models may be equipped with one of the following SCV versions:

  • 105 series-A 3 position lever with a flow of up to 60 L/min as standard
  • 205 series-A 4 position lever control with a flow of up to 60 L/min with a float position
  • 305 series- Selectable detents allow the switching between "No detent", ideal for loader operation, and "Mechanical detent", for continuous hydraulic motor operation
  • The control dial is located on the SCV and may be reached from the operator's seat
  • Neutral start protection releases lever to neutral when the engine is switched off
  • A hydraulic detent, where the SCV lever will remain selected until a pre-set pressure is reached.

SCV COUPLERS:

The John Deere 5020 Series tractors are equipped with the standard couplers, which allows coupling and uncoupling of hydraulics with pressure from the implement side.

  • All John Deere 5020 Series SCV couplers feature the possibility to couple and uncouple with pressure from the implement side.

MECHANICAL INDEPENDENT CONTROL VALVE (M-ICV):

Console integrated joystick The loader joystick available in 5020 series tractors is using the same technology as the handy and sturdy well-known one already used for John Deere loaders. It is console integrated allowing to have enough room to reach the cab from the right hand door.

A Mechanical Independent Control Valve with up to 3 functions can be fitted in conjunction with the Console Integrated Joystick for operating front end loaders.

  • 1st function features: raise, neutral, lower and a detented float position
  • 2nd function: roll back, neutral and dump
  • The ICV is not detented for hydraulic motors
  • More than one function may be operated simultaneously to speed up operations and save time
