John Deere 7030 Small Frame Tractors feature a reliable and proven 6.8 L engine in two configurations, the 2-valve John Deere PowerTech™ E and 4-valve PowerTech Plus™.

Standard on all 7030 Premium models, the PowerTech Plus™ engine takes the lead when it comes to engine technology. Advances include a 4V-CR design (four-valves per cylinder, common-rail fuel delivery), variable geometry turbocharger, exhaust gas recirculation, dual temperature cooling, and more. It’s all designed to deliver world-class torque, power, engine response, and fuel efficiency.

In addition to a seven percent power bulge and constant high torque characteristics of the 4V-CR design, optional Intelligent Power Management gives you added power when you need it for transport or mobile rear PTO work. It automatically gives you up to 25 extra engine horsepower, for hauling grain wagons or baling up-slope in a heavy windrow.

• Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) provides excellent low-speed torque, improved engine response and enhanced fuel economy.
• Four valves per cylinder means 22 percent greater airflow, compared with 2-valve designs, for high torque across the entire working rpm range.
• High-pressure common rail delivers precise and accurate amounts of fuel to each electronically controlled fuel injector – regardless of engine speed – for amazing response and efficiency
• Power core air filter with built-in precleaner removes over 93 percent of foreign material before it reaches the filter element.
• A fuel-saving, viscous-drive fan increases airflow without robbing additional power. The temperature-regulated fan drive allows up to 4 additional hp during peak engine loads.
• For excellent performance and efficiency, the John Deere PowerTech Plus™ engine cools exhaust gases before they enter the engine. Cooling also leads to lower combustion temperatures and less nitrogen (NOx) emissions.
• Optional Intelligent Power Management automatically gives you up to 25 additional engine hp during high-rpm applications, such as transport or mobile rear PTO operations. That’s in addition to the legendary John Deere power bulge.
