7030 Series Small Frame Tractors : Axle

The John Deere full-frame concept carries the load, while the power train transmits the power of the engine to the final drive.

The field-proven full frame provides increased tractor strength, enabling higher payloads to be carried with optimised weight distribution. The long, durable, steel double frame acts as a strong backbone, and the engine and transmission can be designed to optimally perform rather than carrying the frame. Differentials and axles transmit the power to the ground, and they are designed for long years of reliability.

6030 Series Full Frame Axle

2WD Front Axle

The optional 2WD front axle can be adjusted at each end in increments of 51 mm (2-in.). The tie rods allow track widths of 1485 mm (58.5-in.) through 2057 mm (81.0-in.). Maximum wheel tread (additional 40 mm, 1.6-in.) is obtained by reversing the front wheels.

  • Made of heavy-duty nodular cast iron for superior strength and durability
  • Overlapping design provides shock absorption for tough operating conditions
  • Adjustable to match a variety of row spacings
  • Twenty degrees of axle oscillation allows tyres to follow uneven terrain for improved ride comfort and implement stability

Note: Not available on 7430 Premium tractor.

MFWD Front Axle

On-the-go engagement is accomplished with a console-mounted switch that enables the operator to engage or disengage mechanical front-wheel drive without clutching. For further ease of operation, automatic mode may be selected. When automatic mode is selected, front-wheel drive is automatically disengaged once the tractor exceeds 23 km/h.

Exclusive 12-degree Caster/Action design:

  • Permits wheels to tilt and tuck under the tractor chassis to achieve sharp turns
  • Improves stability and steering accuracy and provides positive traction on turns
  • Allows a maximum 52-degree turn angle

6030 Series High Clearance Front Axle

Centreline design provides excellent manoeuvrability and crop clearance. High pivot-point axle design allows the axle to oscillate a full 11 degrees for better turn angle and less stress transmitted to the tractor chassis. Multi-position front wheels provide a wide range of tread settings from 1,524 to 2016 mm (60 to 79.4-in.) If a wider tread setting is desired, 51 mm
(2-in.) spacers can be ordered.

Limited slip automatically compensates for traction differences to maximize pull.

MFWD axles provide the following advantages over 2WD:

  • Converts more engine torque to drawbar pull power for increased productivity
  • Reduces wheel slippage with less tractor ballasting for reduced soil compaction and increased fuel economy

Rear Axle
6030 Series Rear Axles

As standard equipment, rack-and-pinion rear axles provide additional weight, while making tread adjustments quick and easy.

Optional flange-type rear axles provide low-cost tread adjustability for the economy-minded customer.

Two-position steel wheels with rack-and-pinion axles are available for several high-clearance tyre applications.
