6030 Series Open Station Tractors : Axle

The John Deere full frame concept carries the load, while the power train transmits the power of the engine to the final drive.

Thus, all components have a dedicated function and can be designed without compromise.

The John Deere Full Frame Design:
  • A long, durable, steel double frame acts as a strong backbone.
  • Optimised weight distribution for traction, steering and implement handling.
  • Rigid bridge-type frame allows a compact modular construction.
  • Modular design enables option flexibility of drive train units and components.
  • Low weight, high payload tractor handles larger and heavier implements with ease.
  • Isolated engine mounting and transmission mounting reduces noise and vibrations transmitted to the cab.
  • Integrated frame mounting points carry higher payloads without stressing the engine and drive train.

6030 Series Standard Full Frame Axle
Front Axle

Electro-hydraulically activated MFWD clutch with wet multi-discs allows on-the-go engagement:

  • Automatically engaged with braking, to give 4 wheel braking power (excluding single wheel braking).
  • Console mounted switch allows engagement and disengagement of mechanical front wheel drive on-the-go without clutching.

A 12° caster angle allows up to a 52° steering angle providing excellent tight turning radius. The limited slip differential compensates automatically for traction differences to maximize pull performance. And an 11° axle oscillation provides optimum ground adaption. Also, bio-degradable oil, e.g. Bio-Hy-Gard™ II, can be used in all front axles.

An optional 2WD front axle features two steering cylinders and 8 tread settings.

Rear Axle

6030 Series Standard Differential Lock Button

Rear Differential Lock
  • The rear differential lock is electro-hydraulically activated using a floor mounted push button.
  • Activation is indicated by a signal light in the dashboard.
  • Disengagement is by touching either the floor mounted push button again or the brake activation.

Final Drives

6030 Series Standard Final Drive
  • Inboard planetary final drives distribute rear axle loads over three gears to reduce the stress on any individual gear or shaft.
  • Inboard planetary design permits a wide range of wheel adjustments to be made.
