5025 Narrow Series Utility Tractors : Axle

"Mechanical Front Wheel Drive (MFWD), equipped with on-the-go engagement, provides traction with the touch of a finger"

5025 Series Tractor with MFWD Axle

The new 5025N Narrow Tractors feature a Mechanical Front Wheel Drive front axle as standard equipment.

Also available is the heavy-duty nodular cast iron 2WD front axle.

Mechanical Front Wheel Drive (MFWD) axle

  • Limited-slip, heavy-duty MFWD front axle provides traction on demand.
  • Limited-slip, heavy-duty MFWD front axle is available for all three models with toggle-switch control for engage-on-the-go capability.
  • Four-wheel-drive engagement at the fingertips of the operator.
  • The toggle switch has three positions on all MFWD axles: Auto, On, and Off.
  • Auto mode takes all the thinking out of traction control.
  • While in Auto, MFWD will kick out when one brake pedal is depressed in order for an operator to make a sharper turn at the end of a row or in tight working spaces.
  • MFWD disengages with speeds over 17 km/h, preventing unneeded tyre wear and ensuring overall tractor performance.
  • Provides increased drawbar pull and improves traction when operating in slippery conditions so customer can get the required torque to the ground for their application's demand.
  • 6 degrees of caster angle and a 55-degree turn angle result in a short turning radius.

2 Wheel Drive Axle

Two-wheel-drive front axle is designed ready-to-work with added reliability since it is made of a heavy-duty nodular cast iron. This axle features:

  • 10 degrees of axle oscillation to follow uneven terrain allows for consistent performance and comfortable ride.
  • 55-degree turn angle for excellent maneuverability for big torque tasks in tight spaces.
  • Steering cylinder is bolted directly to rear of front axle so the axle housing protects the steering cylinder from potential punctures created by rough terrain, rocky soil conditions, or thick crop material.
