Self-Propelled Sprayers : Engine & Powertrain

4730 Self-Propelled Sprayer: The 4730 provides 182 kW (245 hp) for abundant power in any field condition and peak horsepower of 197 kW (265 hp). The abundant power combined with a variable geometry turbocharger, cooled exhaust gas recirculation, and a 4-valve head provides a fuel efficient engine while giving you plenty of power to get through tough conditions.

The 511 litre fuel tank makes it possible to spray for up to 16 hours without refuelling.

A variable speed, hydrostatic ground drive provides an infinite range of speeds in the field or during transport. The choice between four speed ranges allows matching speeds to field conditions. Shift on-the-go for greater productivity.

4830 Self-Propelled Sprayer: The 4830 Sprayer provides 205 kW (275 hp) for abundant power in any field condition and peak power of 223 kW (300 hp). The turbocharged PowerTech Plus™ 6.8 L diesel engine is very fuel efficient engine while giving you plenty of power to get through tough conditions.

The 4830 has three spraying speed ranges, plus a fourth transport speed. Spray at speeds up to 32 km/h, then hit the road at up to 50 km/h. Hydrostatic system brakes, plus a foot activated rear caliper brake, ensure sure-footed stops.

4930 Self-Propelled Sprayer in transport

4930 Self-Propelled Sprayer: The 4930 Sprayer features the 9.0L PowerTech Plus™ engine delivering 242 kW (325 hp) with a 10% Power Bulge to 266 kW (357 hp). The engine and cooling allow producers to be more productive by allowing them to maintain speed better. The 9.0 L engine is extremely quiet at idle due to pilot injection – a small amount of fuel injected early in the combustion chamber that lessens combustion knock heard in diesel engines. A Variable Geometry Turbocharger (VGT) provides performance by electronically positioning the exhaust airflow vanes.

The 4930 Sprayer also features an electronically controlled drivetrain. Similar to the IVT on John Deere tractors, target field and road speeds can be set by the operator in the cab using a thumb switch located on the hydro handle. Operators are no longer limited to set speed ranges. When the operator pushes the handle full forward (and throttle full forward) the sprayer will target that speed, just like the cruise control in most automobiles today. The handle can be pulled back to park and foot brake engaged for increased deceleration.
