All-new 4940 Sprayer
John Deere invites you to get S.M.A.R.T. (Spray More Acres in Reduced Time). The new 4940 is our smartest, biggest, most productive sprayer ever. Loaded with fully integrated solutions and technology, it delivers outstanding precision and productivity.
Building on the most popular features of its predecessors, the new John Deere 4940 Sprayer is powered by a 250 kw (340-hp) 9.0-L IT4 PowerTech™ Plus turbocharged engine with four-wheel hydrostatic drive, enabling liquid applications of up to 32 km/h (20 mph) and empty transport speeds of up 56 km/h (35 mph).
The new 4940’s 36.58-m (120-ft) booms come with 11 independent sections, more than any other sprayer on the market and comes equipped with the GreenStar™ 3 2630 Display which when combined with Swath Control Pro™, allows all sections to be turned on and off manually or automatically.
In addition, the 4542-L (1200-gal.) solution tank has been completely redesigned to shift more weight forward, improving front-to-back weight distribution, providing greater operational control, and reducing compaction.
