Seeding Tools : Central Commodity System

Seeding Tools - Central Commodity System

Here's why it pays

Central Commodity System (CCS) SeedMetering
The CCS SeedMetering uses large bulk-fill tanks to provide extra seed-carrying capacity.

Smaller models of both the 1690CCS and 1890CCS feature a single 2500 Litre (70 bushel) tank. The wider models of the tools carry two 1800 Litre (50 bushel) seed tanks.

The CCS tanks are made of the same translucent plastic used on the 1910 Commodity Air Cart. Their specially designed shape ensures complete clean-out, as there's no place for seed or fertilizer to lodge.

Seed Metering

A meter manifold is mounted underneath the seed tank(s) which accurately meters seed into a seed cup, where a venturi pulls the seed into the air stream and delivers it to an opener.

A single wheel drives the metering system. This wheel engages when the rockshaft is lowered.

Features:

  • A hydraulically driven fan creates the air flow that moves seed from the central hoppers to the openers.
  • The air flow is divided evenly for each row by a plenum. Airflow enters the plenum and is distributed to individual venturis.
  • The population rate on CCS tools is determined by the metering wheels and the speed at which they turn.
  • Choose from three meter wheels, One for Soybeans and Wheat, one for Milo and Wheat, and one for Sorghum at rates as low as 4 pounds/acre.
  • Setting the seeding rate on a CCS tool involves just one adjustment, which can be made manually to the transmission or remotely from inside the tractor. Rates are infinitely variable within the selected speed range.

Monitor

The monitors used on the CCS SeedMetering tool are the ComputerTrak™ 350 (up to 32 rows), and the ComputerTrak™ 450 (36 rows) monitors.

Both have a quick-average feature that updates the population display every second, and a calibration feature that matches the monitor population read-out with the actual seed rate.

Features:

  • The ability to monitor every row lets you avoid the possibility of long stretches of unseeded rows due to a plug.
  • Updates every 1 seconds, not every 40 seconds, confirm almost immediately when you've adjusted populations while working.
