Self Propelled Windrowers : Service

Engines:

  • Most service points are on the left side of engine for operator convenience.
  • Air intake stack is located behind the cab, in cleaner air, for less maintenance to air cleaner
  • Parts commonality with other Deere machines.

Hydraulics:

  • The hydraulic cabinet makes servicing the hydraulic functions very easy.
  • ''Spin-on'' type oil filters are used on the charge and return side of the hydraulic system to ensure a clean hydraulic supply.
  • Reservoir sight tube for a quick visual check of hydraulic oil level.
  • Air conditioner condenser and oil cooler assembly swing out for easy serviceability.
  • Rotary wand air screen door gives a clean flow of air to the radiator for positive cooling.

Electrics:

  • The electronic cabinet, located at the rear right-hand corner of the operator's cab, is accessible from ground level.
  • Convenient central location for circuit breakers, relays, and fuses.
  • Components are identified in a decal for easy service.

Platforms:

  • 896-Knife Drive Gearbox. Oil dipstick enables easy checking of oil level.
  • Clean-out panels are located under each end of the platform and allow cleaning of trash and debris from under the ends of the lower auger.
  • The clean-out panels and centre deck sheets can also be removed during operation, allowing sand, trash and debris to fall out of the platform without affecting the crop flow.
  • 994 Platform Cutterbar uses readily available Hy-Gardâ„¢ transmission and hydraulic oil.
  • Sight glass in each end of the cutterbar provides operator with a visual check to easily assure that there is oil in the cutterbar.
  • No tools are required for this operation.
