Mower Conditioners : Conditioning Systems

Optimum conditioning in all crops, all conditions.

Steel Tynes

All Mower Conditioners feature proven John Deere conditioning systems to promote high quality forage and achieve faster dry down.

The free-swinging steel tynes of the impeller conditioning system are significantly stronger than plastic tynes and produce a fluffy windrow that allows for better air and sunlight penetration.

Intermeshing Urethane Rolls

Likewise the optional Urethane Rolls conditioning system, available on Side Pull and Centre Pivot Mower Conditioners, feature an intermittent recessed cleat design providing 21% more crimping edges than chevron rubber rolls. These urethane rolls thoroughly crimp the crop preserving the leaves and nutrients.

New conditioning options

V-10 conditioner rolls New steel conditioner rolls are available as an option for the 946 and 956 Mower Conditioners. The V-10 steel conditioner rolls feature ten angled flutes arranged in a chevron, or V-pattern, along the length of the steel core. Steel rolls offer improved wear life over urethane rolls, particularly in adverse crop conditions.

Advantages of the V-10 conditioner rolls versus the straight flute design:
  • More crimping edges for improved conditioning
  • Improved feeding
  • Improved windrow formation

Tri-Lobe conditioning rolls The 946 and 956 Mower Conditioners can also be fitted with Tri-Lobe™ conditioning rolls. This new conditioner gives customers a durable, "crusher" type roll for improved dry-down.

Tri-Lobe™ conditioning rolls feature the following characteristics:
  • Three intermeshing chevron lobes to crush entire length of stem for improved conditioning and dry down
  • Durably designed
  • Ease of serviceability
