John Deere’s extensive range of headers and pick-ups have been designed to offer you the flexibility to harvest in a wide variety of crop types and field conditions.

Grass Pick-ups, one of three heads available for the 7050 Series Forage Harvester, is a low profile unit designed to minimise crop loss and increase crop flow thanks to its small diameter reel and crop compressor device.

There are three sizes available; 3 metre (630B), 4 metre (640B) and 4.5 metre (645B), which can be configured with a paddle or finger auger. Both are suited to different crop conditions, for example the paddle is often used in heavier crops, while the finger auger is recommended for sensitive crops.

The paddle auger, uses no moving parts and allows positive feeding with less wear and low maintenance. The position of the paddle is adjustable to adapt the paddle aggression depending on the type of crop. Optional teethed bars can provide even more aggressive feeding for difficult crops.

The finger auger, uses retractable fingers that push the crop as close as possible to the feed roll housing for a perfect feeding of the machine in all conditions, even very light late grass.

• Small diameter reel and compressor sheet – provide close, clean raking to minimise crop movement and loss
• Auger and deck sheets – provides efficient machine feeding of crop (standard on 640B & 645B models)
• Wheels and tyres – deliver perfect ground contour in smooth or wet conditions with 360 degree pivoting wheels and large tyres
• Stone Trap – reduces the wear on rotor knives and feeding rolls
• Trash net – an option on all models prevents crop build up on the SPFH and pick up
