7000 Series Self Propelled Forage Harvesters : Product Overview

7000 Series Forage Harvesters

Comfort and confidence for unmatched productivity

One look at the John Deere 7000 Series Self-Propelled Forage Harvesters, and you know these machines are truly different. Standard features include the exclusive infinitely variable length-of-cut (IVLOC) transmission for the feedrolls and Dura-Drum™ cutterhead. The spacious cab has improved visibility all the way round. Also included is the industry's most advanced metal detector. Engines have more power, and the drive train and optional four wheel drive keep the machine moving in any condition.

The John Deere 7000 Series Self-Propelled Forage Harvesters are powered by the John Deere PowerTech™ turbocharged and aftercooled diesel engines meeting Tier II emission requirements. Outstanding torque levels and up to 25% torque rise allow the harvester to respond effortlessly to demands such as heavy crop, hill climbing, transport and poor field conditions.

Six Models:
  • 7200 - Power at rated speed - 208 kW (283 hp) Maximum power - 230 kW (315 hp)
  • 7300 - Power at rated speed - 273 kW (370 hp) Maximum power - 305 kW (415 hp)
  • 7400 - Power at rated speed - 323 kW (440 hp) Maximum power - 367 kW (500 hp)
  • 7500 - Power at rated speed - 377 kW (513 hp) Maximum power - 420 kW (570 hp)
  • 7700 - Power at rated speed - 377 kW (513 hp) Maximum power - 420 kW (570 hp)
  • 7800 - Power at rated speed - 441 kW (600 hp) Maximum power - 487 kW (660 hp)

Cab

The 7000 Series SPFH has redesigned cab for better comfort and visibility giving you more control and more confidence to run the machine right. The cab is similar in design to the John Deere 50 Series Combine cabs.

  • Air suspension seat
  • Tilt telescoping steering wheel
  • Corner post mounted displays are always in view but never in the way
  • The overhead display includes the controls for the Climate Control and display for the metal detector and knife sharpener

Engines

  • The 7200 is powered by the John Deere PowerTech™ 8.1 Litre in-line 6 cylinder diesel engine
  • The 7300, 7400, 7500 and 7700 are powered by the John Deere PowerTech™ 12.5 litre in-line 6 cylinder diesel engine
  • The 7800 Large-Capacity Self-Propelled Forage Harvester uses a Cummins QSX 15 L engine

Other Features

  • Non-magnetic feed rolls with special welds to ensure optimum performance of the metal detection system
  • The segmented knife design of the proven Dura-Drum™ head results in an efficient, clean cut
  • The optional Kernel Processor and drive line have been optimised for better feeding and less load on the drive belt.
  • The crop accelerator powers the crop through the transition and out of the unloading spout.
  • Infinitely variable Length-of-cut transmission allows the operator to infinitely vary the length of cut from 6 to 26 mm with a 40 knife cutterhead, on the go from the operator's seat.
  • Quick-change feature allows the raising and lowering of the kernel processor to enable harvesting grass and maize or whole plant cereals while the kernel processor remains with the harvester. Changing from grass to maize and vice versa takes only minutes.
  • John Deere's in-line crop flow concept continues in the straight line transition and spout base. This enables crop delivery to either side and the rear at an arc of 200 degrees. Spout measures 4,350 mm in length, reaching most side following trailers.
  • An extra long spout (+ 750 mm) is optionally available for harvesters operating with wide headers. Width of the spout is 250 mm to guide strongest crop streams efficiently. The complete spout weighs 182 kg.
  • A.M.S. integrate Business Management, Equipment and Resources Management, Production Management, and Agronomic and Information Services into one solution for more profitable contractor operation and farm management.
  • John Deere RowTrak™ guidance system automatically steers the rear wheels of the forage harvester to follow row spacing. RowTrak™ guidance is particularly useful when the harvester is operated with wide row crop headers or rotary heads in a non-stop manner during day and night time. It is tiresome for the operator to permanently concentrate on steering.

A range of Headers to match your operation.

Grass Pickups

Harvest all the crop in the field and windrow with the line of John Deere pickups, available with working widths of 3,4 and 4.5 meters.

Maize Headers

Match your 7000 Series SPFH with a Kemper maize header. With a complete line of maize headers in row-independent and row-crop, there is a match for every operation and the increased power and capacity of the 7000 Series SPFH.

  • 630A grass header offers improved durability for heavy duty applications and unmatched crop retrieval, plus a true 3.0 m working width.
  • 640A grass header has a working width of 4.0 m. The pickup is mounted on a pivoting frame that enhances ground following in uneven conditions and at high speeds.
  • 645A grass header has a working width of 4.5 m. All pickups feature a small diameter pickup reel and closely spaced teeth that gather even light or dry material - especially important for second and third cuts.
  • The Kemper M4500 cuts 4.5 m or 6 rows in any direction, even across the rows. The M4500 features two large outer drums.
  • The Kemper 300 series feature a small drum design for harvesting a variety of crops such as maize or whole-crop cereals. The 330 has a working width of 3.0 m, 4 rows. The 345, 6 rows has a working width of 4.5 m. Transport width is 2.96 m.
  • The 4.5 m 345 and 6.0 m 360, 8 row rotary headers from Kemper cut faster and more efficiently. Both can be equipped with an optional factory installed lateral tilt frame and a water cooled drive line clutch.
  • Now available for the John Deere 7500, is the Kemper 7.5 m 10 row, 375 harvesting unit, for the highest output. Featuring the lateral tilt mechanism, the header easily copes with uneven ground. The unique folding system reduces transport width to 2.95 m. And the watercooled drive line clutch ensures reliable power transmission.
