Header Equipment : Belt Pickup Overview

615 Belt Pickup

The 615 Belt Pickup brings to the marketplace a new level of performance in windrow harvesting. The dual-belt delivery system, the FieldGlideâ„¢ suspension system, and a larger auger with new finger pattern for better crop engagement supply superior crop handling. These, along with other features such as remote hydraulic adjustable windscreen and Header Height Sensing, deliver maximum performance for the customer--performance that increases the productivity of John Deere combines.

The adjustable air spring and heavy-duty hydraulic shock design controls and dampens picking unit movement during field operation and road transport. During high-speed harvesting in rough fields, the suspension will keep the platform from missing crop and ultimately will improve overall pickup reliability.

Increased pickup belt lengths offer smoother material flow. Material flow is enhanced by an additional draper belt, which allows the crop to fall from the pickup belts. This helps smooth material flow into the auger. The transfer belt moves crop under the large 660 mm (26-in.) diameter auger, providing significant material handling improvements even in large, dense windrows.

615 Belt Pickup

The pickup belts consist of four 1,130  mm (44.5-in.) rubber belts. Four wide belts provide two features: improved belt tracking and reduced seed loss.

A unique cleat helps to further retain seeds. The bolted splice belt design allows for easier maintenance. Connectors between belts improve belt drive capacity even in tough windrow conditions without the need for a center support on the drive rollers. This design eliminates roller flanges, which created a gap between belts and could result in crop losses. The pickup and draper belts are designed and built heavy-duty for increased wear life.
