70 Series STS Combine Harvesters : Main Features

Loaded with NEW FEATURES and IMPROVEMENTS

The John Deere 70 Series STS Combines provide unprecedented performance and capacity in all crops and conditions. The unique Single Tyne Separator (STS) system provides superior crop handling performance, high levels of productive capacity, and excellent quality of harvested grain.

The 70 Series STS Combines are available in four configurations, ranging from 197 to 328 kilowatts, and with grain tanks from 8800 to 10600 litres. Grain handling capacity has been increased across the board, while each model also features a redesigned operator environment.

70 Series Combine Harvesters
  • The 328 kW 13.5 L PowerTech Plus™ engine powers the 9870 STS; order Intelligent Power Management for an additional 30 kW (additional power available only when used with 612C chopping cornheads). The 9770 STS and 9670 STS produce 268 kW and 227 kW respectively using the 9.0 L engine, while the 9570 STS makes 197 kW with the John Deere 6.8 L PowerTech™ engine.
  • Dyna-Flo II™ Cleaning system with a speed range of 500 rpm to 1200 rpm allows matching the air volume to the crop and conditions for a clean-grain tank sample. Also available is a cleaning fan slow-down bundle (250 rpm to 600 rpm) for harvesting very lightweight specialty crops such as grass seeds. A new Dyna-Flo II™ with ICC (increased cleaning capacity) is standard on the 9870 STS.
  • NEW higher-capacity clean grain handling system is standard on the 9770 STS and 9870 STS. Upper and lower clean grain augers are larger, while elevator paddle speed has been increased. It all adds up to 35% more clean grain handling capacity for the two largest models.
  • The 9670 STS, 9770 STS and 9870 STS all feature our High Unload Rate system for 116 litres per second (3.3 bu.) of unloading power. The optional folding unloading auger helps reduce overall transport width.
  • The new CommandCenter™ reconfigurable armrest display puts critical, customisable information within easy view. The redesigned overhead panel allows more convenient access to lights, mirrors and other controls.
  • The CommandTouch™ Multi-Speed feederhouse drive system for 9870 STS Corn Combines puts five distinct feederhouse drive speeds at your command, adjustable on the go from the cab.
  • TouchSet™ Automatic Combine Adjust offers 25 pre-programmed settings – or nine that you can program – to automatically make all required settings including the cleaning shoe. All from inside the cab.
  • SetPoint adjusted functions allow for even more precise machine settings and allow the operator to continue an adjustment while returning his attention back to combine and header operation; controlled through the CommandCenter™ display.

70 Series Combine Harvesters
  • GreenStar™ Harvest Monitor™ allows the operator to view measurements of yield and moisture of crop as it is harvested.
  • Platform reel resume makes it easy to program in a reel position for each “resume” button. You can plug in the best height and fore-aft position to match the crop conditions.
  • Single-lever header and platform hook-up is standard on all 70 Series STS Combines. One lever engages electrical and hydraulic lines and secures latch pins.
  • STS Bullet Rotor™ features an elongated, bullet-shaped profile for smoother feeding, less ‘growling’ from the rotor, and reduced power requirements.
  • Engine air scoop pulls clean air from above dust and crop residue, reducing the load on air-cleaning components.
  • NEW redesigned wing blade fine cut straw chopper is standard on all 70 Series STS Combines. This new design extends blade life, and uses up to 15% less horsepower… all while giving you a more consistent cut and spread.
  • Redesigned PowerCast tailboard (optional) features a new housing and redesigned impeller blades. PowerCast lets you adjust the spread width, on–the-go, from the cab. You also get no-tool adjustment of the stationary knife bank.
