Faster Grain Handling
70 Series Combines come equipped with a high-performance grain handling system that is designed to efficiently move the clean grain from the cleaning system into the grain tank. The system can handle the high volume of grain that can be produced from today's high-yielding crops.
The class 6, 7 and 8 STS machines have significantly increased in their clean grain elevator capacity from the 60 Series to maximize the machines productivity in the field. The grain tank is then unloaded with an unloading system that has the highest unloading rate in the industry.
The 9670 STS, 9770 STS and 9870 STS all feature a high unload rate (HUR) system, which unloads the 10600 Litre (300 bu.) grain tank at 116 Litres per second (3.3 bu./sec.). The mid-sized 9570 STS unloads its 8800 Litre (250 bu.) tank at a brisk 77.5 Litres per second (2.2 bu./sec.).
Large-diameter grain tank cross augers run within semi-wrap grain tank troughs at a slow speed, gently engaging the grain, moving it more efficiently. Potential for grain damage is reduced by more ''grain-on-grain'' versus ''grain-on-steel'' movement. These components efficiently move more grain with no increase in operating speeds and no increase in horsepower requirements.
The HUR system includes:
-
Larger-diameter grain tank cross augers (254 mm vs. 190.5 mm).
-
Larger-diameter vertical auger (432 mm vs. 330 mm).
-
Larger-diameter unloading auger (381 mm vs. 292 mm) and auger tube (432 mm vs. 343 mm).
-
6.9 m long unloading auger.
-
The high-capacity unloading system is available in both a general purpose and extended-wear version. The extended-wear unloading system is in base equipment on all rice STS combines.
Extended-Wear Grain Handling System
A heavy-duty grain handling system option is available for the 9570 STS, 9670 STS, 9770 STS and 9870 STS Corn and Grain Combines (included as base equipment on rice combines). This heavy-duty system contains the same high-wear components as found in the STS combine equipped with the rice harvesting package and is recommended for high-yielding irrigated corn and any crops with very abrasive conditions. The extended wear grain handling system is also available packaged with the High Unload Rate (HUR) System on the 9670 STS, 9770 STS and 9870 STS.
The high-wear components consist of:
-
Abrasive resistant clean-grain elevator.
-
Abrasive resistant grain tank loading auger housing (stainless steel on 9570 STS and 9670 STS and abrasion resistant steel housings on 9770 STS and 9870 STS).
-
Vertical grain tank unloading auger with heavy-gauge sectional flighting.
-
Abrasive resistant grain tank charge housing.
-
Cross auger troughs for standard unload rate.
9770 STS and 9870 STS Grain Handling Features
-
Lower clean grain auger now 10% larger in diameter than our previous models.
-
Larger drive sprockets bump the speed of the clean grain elevator paddles by 25%.
-
Elevator drive sheaves are 8% larger in diameter for higher speeds and greater belt wrap.
-
The grain tank loading auger is now 273 mm in diameter to more smoothly handle large quantities of grain.
-
The larger grain tank loading auger lowers easily into the tank for storage.
-
The loading auger operates in a stainless steel tube for longer wear life.
-
A unique auger boot design gives you more flow control and less spillage.
-
A grain-saver door prevents spillage when you shut down the auger.
