The feeding system on the 70 Series Combines is designed to effectively convey material from the front-end equipment up into the threshing module. The feederhouse is equipped with single-point latching system, fore/aft tilting front face plate, and powerful gear-driven reverser.
The long length and orientation of the feederhouse provides excellent header visibility so the operator has a full view of header and its height-of-cut.
-
Operator sits naturally, no need to lean forward to see header.
-
Operator can view the stubble height behind the header.
-
Front plate of the feederhouse is vertical, providing excellent material transition from the header into the feederhouse. This even, continuous movement of crop improves the material flow through the entire combine.
-
Large floating front drum with a strong, durable T-slat conveyor chain (9570 STS), or U-slat conveyor chain (9670 STS, 9770 STS and 9870 STS) provides positive ''pinch and pull'' feeding. The conveyor chain slats are bolted onto the chain for improved serviceability.
-
Long feederhouse lift cylinders provide high ground clearance for headers when fully extended.
-
High lift also provides ample height to allow feederhouse to be used as a convenient landing when cleaning and servicing the front of the cab.
-
Non-skid pads are provided on top of the feederhouse.
-
Four top doors and a removable bottom sheet provide excellent feederhouse accessibility for cleanout and inspection.
Contour-Master™ Automatic Self-Levelling System
All machines can be equipped with an optional Contour-Master™ lateral tilting system for superior performance in uneven terrain. This automatic self-levelling system allows the feederhouse and header to tilt laterally four degrees (up or down) to follow the varying contours of sloping ground. Automatic tilting action allows the header to match the angle of sloping ground contours before the combine drive wheel and axle contact the approaching terrain.
Contour-Master™ allows:
-
A more consistent height of cut over the full width of the header.
-
The operator can maintain faster ground speeds when harvesting with larger heads on sloping terrain.
-
System uses ground contact sensors for corn heads, flexible and rigid platforms.
Contour-Master™ can be used on the following headers:
-
Rigid platforms, 6.7 m to 9.1 m (22-ft. to 30-ft.).
-
Flexible platforms, 6.1 m to 10.7 m (20-ft. to 35-ft.).
-
Corn heads, 6-row to 12-row.
-
900D Series draper cutting platforms.
-
615P Belt Pick-up platforms.
