John Deere Policies

Health and Safety Policy

John Deere produces equipment to meet the productive demands of today's farmer. John Deere also recognises it's responsibility to provide safe, maintenance friendly equipment for this very demanding environment.

Equipment and machinery repair and maintenance, along with other farm workshop jobs, is a major source of injury on rural properties.

According to Australian statistics, injury from farm machinery and equipment maintenance comprises about 25% of all farm injuries.

Many farm workshop injuries could be avoided with a few commonsense precautions, including:

  • personal protective equipment
  • correct guards on tools and equipment
  • ready access to emergency equipment, such as fire extinguishers
  • a clean, hazard-free workplace

Safety is an integral consideration in the development of all John Deere products and the company champions a culture of safety in all areas of operation.
